SEATTLE (AP) - President Barack Obama’s visit to Seattle this week was brief, but he succeeded in raising a lot of money for U.S. Patty Murray’s re-election campaign.

The Seattle Times (https://is.gd/dNKV96 ) estimates the fundraising event the president spoke at on Friday raised more than $1 million. About 30 donors paid up to $33,400 per person to spend some quality time with the president before a bigger dinner.

Then more than 1,400 people paid at least $250 for the dinner at the Westin, which raised an estimated $500,000.

Murray’s 2016 re-election campaign had raised $6.7 million through June, as of the latest Federal Election Commission reports.
