MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Walker Art Center honors director Todd Haynes with a retrospective next month.

“Todd Haynes: 20 Years of Killer Films” runs Nov. 5-14 in the Walker Cinema.

The retrospective opens with a free screening of Haynes’ latest film, “Carol,” on Nov. 5. Based on a Patricia Highsmith novel, “Carol” explores a love affair between two women - played by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara - in the 1950s.

Other Haynes’ films to be shown include “I’m Not There,” which uses six actors to portray Bob Dylan; “Far From Heaven,” starring Julianne Moore as a ‘50s housewife facing a marital crisis; the glam-rock drama “Velvet Goldmine”; and “Safe,” about a suburban homemaker (Moore) who develops chemical sensitivity.

Haynes appears for a dialogue with Scott Foundas of Amazon Studios on Nov. 6.
