LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette police say a 61-year-old woman has died after being hit by a train.

Investigators say a westbound train hit Angela Tolliver of Lafayette as she crossed the tracks at West Third Street about 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Sunday morning that she had died at an area hospital.
