BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A man is accused of attempting to strangle and suffocate a woman and threatening to kill her and her family if she reported it to police.

Clancey Lone Fight, of New Town, is charged in federal court with four counts, including assault, tampering and theft. Trial is set for Dec. 15 in Bismarck.

Court documents say the assault happened Sept. 14 on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Investigators say the victim suffered a broken arm, black eye and bruises.

Authorities say the theft charge involves the intent to steal a vehicle.

Lone Fight’s attorney could not be reached for comment over the weekend.
