TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Officials in northern Ohio are hoping to bring new businesses to the former site of a sprawling Jeep plant.

A new industrial building on the former factory land in Toledo is ready for use, developers said recently.

Toledo’s port authority and a private firm say they’ve already had talks with auto suppliers and food processors about possibly moving into the site that sits along Interstate 75.

Jeep’s operations at the site were moved to a new assembly plant over a decade ago, and the old plant was razed in 2007.

The Blade (https://bit.ly/1jheOYM ) newspaper in Toledo reports that developers say they want to attract high-paying jobs such as those in light assembly or high tech-type industries.
