LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police in Las Vegas say a man is in critical condition after he was hit by a driver suspected of being impaired.

Authorities say the incident happened around 10:50 p.m. Saturday at Sahara Avenue and Palace Station.

According to preliminary evidence and witnesses, a Chevy Corvette was traveling westbound on Sahara on a greenlight.

Police say 62-year-old Louis Bugsley was crossing Sahara against the pedestrian traffic signal when he was hit.

Bugsley was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Police say the driver, 29-year-old Emanuel Alcantar-Sanchez, failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

The collision remains under investigation.
