MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee police are searching for the driver that struck and killed a pedestrian in an early morning hit-and-run crash.

Police say the crash happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West North Avenue.

A driver in a white vehicle, possibly a Nissan Maxima, struck a 39-year-old man and continued to drive north on North 5th Street.

Police say the victim may have been involved in an altercation before the crash.
