ROSWELL, Ga. (AP) - Police say a woman was attacked while running on a trail in suburban Atlanta.

Roswell Police officer Zachery Frommer says a 51-year-old woman was struck in the head about 11 a.m. Sunday by a male while running on a trail in Roswell. The victim says she was knocked to the ground after the suspect approached her as he passed by and struck her in the head.

The victim told authorities that the male continued to walk away from her. The unidentified victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where she has since been released.

Police say the woman described the suspect as a 5-foot-9 white male wearing gray and black sweats.
