CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) - A Crystal Lake family that sued over the expansion of bleachers at a local school says they’ve been victims of a death threat and other harassment since the Illinois Supreme Court ruled in their favor.

The Northwest Herald (https://bit.ly/1VM1NrN) reports that after last month’s decision someone driving by the Gurba family home shouted the threat. They say their daughter has been bullied at school and the family’s mailbox damaged.

In its ruling in favor of the Gurbas, other residents and Crystal Lake, the court found that Community High School District 155 didn’t comply with the city’s zoning process when it constructed the 50-foot-tall bleachers.

The school board recently sent an email to parents asking the community to be respectful as negotiations continue on what will happen to the bleachers.
