PORTLAND, Mich. (AP) - One of several central Michigan churches heavily damaged by a summer tornado is reopening.

WILX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1G2CBWW ) Portland’s Epic Community Church plans to reopen Sunday for the first time since the June twister. Members had been worshipping outside in a big tent.

Epic was one of four churches damaged in the community.

Gov. Rick Snyder declared a state of disaster for Ionia County in July because of significant damage throughout Portland. The declaration made state resources available for recovery efforts.
