PHOENIX (AP) - Nearly a dozen Phoenix area Starbucks locations could offer alcoholic beverages by the beginning of next year.

KNXV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1jdX80M) that the Arizona Department of Liquor has revealed that Starbucks has submitted 11 liquor license applications.

The locations include central Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler to Peoria.

Starbucks has been rolling out wine, beer and small dishes at select U.S. locations to try and boost sales later in the day.

Starbucks Evenings is the latest company expansion that would have some locations pouring libations as early as January.
