DALLAS (AP) - A worker on the State Fair of Texas midway has been hurt by a wheel that flew off a spinning car on one of the amusement rides.

Fair spokeswoman Karissa Condoianis tells The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/1QlMhfF ) the ride known as the Crazy Mouse has been closed. It’s a small roller coaster with spinning cars that can hold up to four passengers.

She says two cars carrying riders were stranded when the ride was shut Monday afternoon and workers were trying to get them down as soon as possible. She says they appear to be fine and have been provided water.

The injured worker has been taken to a hospital and his condition is not immediately known.
