PAGE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities continue to search for a Wyoming man who disappeared after he jumped from a 90-foot cliff into Lake Powell.

The National Park Service and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office say 29-year-old William “Billy” Burke of Jackson jumped Friday afternoon from the cliff of Face Canyon.

The canyon is on the Arizona side of the lake that extends into Utah.

Witnesses told authorities that Jackson didn’t resurface after entering the water.

Bystanders immediately searched for the man, but they couldn’t find him.

The park service, county sheriff’s office and Utah State Parks responded to calls for help and searched the area.

Because the water in that part of the lake is more than 150 feet deep, authorities say a remotely operated vehicle has been brought in to help the search.
