MARIENVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A 66-year-old grandmother has died in a northwestern Pennsylvania house fire that left eight others homeless.

Forest County Coroner Norman Wimer says Monday that Madeline Farren died of heat and smoke inhalation in the Jenks Township fire. It happened Saturday afternoon.

The fire and Farren’s death have been ruled accidental, though investigators did not immediately say what cause the blaze. The coroner pronounced Farren dead at the scene.

The coroner says the other family members who lived in the house lost everything, “But to also lose their wife, mother, grandmother, is just unthinkable. My heart goes out to the family.”
