HOLDEN, W.Va. (AP) - A Logan County group plans to erect a monument honoring 18 workers killed in a fire at the Holden No. 22 Mine in 1960.

The Logan Banner (https://bit.ly/1L7kJcl ) reports that the monument will be installed on a half-acre plot in the James H. Harless Wood Products Industrial Park near Holden.

The Holden 22 Miners Memorial Committee is raising funds for the memorial project. A monument dedication is planned in 2016.
