ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Asheville are investigating the shooting death of a 20-year-old man.

Police said Dondre Keyshaw Nelson of Asheville was shot at an apartment complex early Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Christina Hallingse told local media that 30-year-old Kelvin Oyakahil Irabor of Hendersonville was charged Saturday with first-degree murder. It was not clear if Irabor has a lawyer.

Police found Nelson with a gunshot wound around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He was taken to Mission Hospital where he died.

Hallingse said the two had a heated confrontation before the shooting.
