BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Police say two people were hospitalized after a Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority-Metro bus collided with a minivan in Buffalo over the weekend.

NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmayer tells WGRZ-TV (https://on.wgrz.com/1Pa98NI ) the accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Sunday on Buffalo’s west side at the intersection of Niagara Street and Lafayette Avenue.

Hartmayer says the minivan was making a turn when it collided with the bus.

The driver of the minivan and one female passenger on the bus were transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries isn’t known at this time.

Officials say there were eight passengers on the bus in addition to the driver.
