RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Police say a 29-year-old federal fugitive who was wearing a bulletproof vest was arrested after a high-speed chase in Rapid City.

Rapid City police say an officer pursued a vehicle driven by Eric LaDeaux after he refused to pull over late Saturday night. Police say the vehicle slowed down at one point to let out a 19-year-old passenger and then LaDeaux continued driving along Highway 385 for two miles before surrendering to officers.

LaDeaux was arrested on eluding and drug charges, several Pennington County warrants and a federal fugitive warrant.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether LaDeaux has an attorney.
