COLONIE, N.Y. (AP) - Police in upstate New York busted a party with a guest list of close to 1,000 people and a professional DJ.

The Daily Gazette of Schenectady reports (https://bit.ly/1ZumYhj ) police broke up the party after responding to a complaint for loud music in the Albany suburb of Colonie on Saturday night.

Officers arrived to find close to 500 people crammed inside the building, which was packed so tightly that police say partygoers were in danger of passing out.

Police say approximately 300 to 500 more people were spread out between surrounding parking lots and a nearby road trying to get inside.

Colonie officials say the party’s organizer, an alumna of SUNY-Albany, didn’t have the proper permits to hold the event.

Authorities are investigating what code violations may have occurred.
