COVINGTON, La. (AP) - The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office and sheriff’s office are investigating human remains found inside a burned-out vehicle in the Sun area.

James Hartman, a spokesman for St. Tammany Coroner Dr. Charles Preston, confirmed to NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1LJR3FJ ) the remains were found Sunday in the Sun area. He says the vehicle and remains were transported to the sheriff’s office crime lab.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

Hartman says the coroner and sheriff’s offices are working together in the investigation.

This marks the second time in recent months that a body was found in a burned vehicle in Sun, which is located in the parish’s northeast corner. The coroner’s office used dental records to identify 33-year-old Travis Adair, of Bogalusa, who was found inside the vehicle on Aug. 27.
