FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - A skull found near the top of Peak One near Frisco is that of a Breckenridge man who had been missing since last year.

The Summit Daily reports (https://goo.gl/NEuPhe ) 27-year-old Jack McAtee went missing Sept. 19, 2014, a day after his car rolled off of Dillon Dam Road into the reservoir. He managed to swim to safety with just a scratch above his left eye.

A state trooper reported that McAtee was acting erratically but noted he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. McAtee had stopped taking bipolar medication 10 days earlier.

He went missing after seeing a psychologist the day after the crash.

On Aug. 11, two hikers found McAtee’s skull as they descended from the 12,900-foot summit of Peak One. The cause and manner of his death have not been released.
