ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two children were struck by a car in front of a central Florida elementary school.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1OuRSTp ) reports the boys ran into the crosswalk outside Wetherbee Elementary School as the crossing guard was trying to stop traffic on Monday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports 11-year-old Zaid Rashaad and 10-year-old Saffold Mervin were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers say 66-year-old Neida Garcia was failed to stop and the boys ran into the left side of her Nissan Sentral. She was ticketed for failure to obey a traffic-control device.
