FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say four people have been injured after a vehicle crashed into a group of pedestrians outside of a building in Fayetteville.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/1GGg8da) the incident took place Tuesday afternoon outside the Department of Driver’s Services building.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Allen Stevens says an elderly couple was pulling into a parking space when the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

Stevens says the vehicle left the parking space and hit a covered area where people were standing.

Stevens says two people were hit. They were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passengers in the car also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
