SANFORD, N.C. (AP) - An automotive manufacturer is expanding its operation in Sanford and will add 76 jobs in the few years.

The governor’s office said Monday that Magneti Marelli Powertrain said it will invest $12 million to expand its Lee County plant.

The company designs, develops and manufactures engine and transmission parts for cars, motorbikes and light vehicles.

The One North Carolina Fund is providing $225,000 for the project.
