CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - A Conway man will serve almost 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the shooting deaths of his parents at a Myrtle Beach hotel.

Local media outlets report that 23-year-old Alexander Gray Turner entered the plea Monday and was sentenced to 47 years in prison.

Turner had been charged in the shooting deaths last March of his parents, 52-year-old Carrie Daley Turner and 61-year-old Steven Gray Turner, both of Durham, North Carolina.

At a bond hearing at the time of the shootings, Turning told a judge he had recently moved to the area to complete a post-traumatic stress disorder rehabilitation program at a treatment center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Turner’s girlfriend, 19-year-old Chelsi Leila Griffin of Conway, still faces two murder charges in the deaths.
