HAVERTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Police say a thief in eastern Pennsylvania who claims to be soliciting Halloween treats is tricking her way into people’s houses to steal.

Haverford police say they received several calls Sunday about a woman who’s going door-to-door in the township’s Llanerch section and asking for cash donations or Halloween costumes for the Upper Darby Multicultural Center.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1k2Meem ) police say the multicultural center doesn’t solicit donations.

Police say the woman was able to make her way into a house and steal an iPhone. She is described as a black woman in her mid-30s.
