OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Prosecutors have dismissed a felony child neglect case against a mother whose 7-year-old son was killed in a house fire started by a burglar in April 2013.

A court document says 26-year-old Noemi Lopez and her live-in boyfriend, 29-year-old Antonio Guillen, were charged in July 2013 after prosecutors said they left Adrian Roberto Avalos “unattended for several hours while they were away getting intoxicated.” Both Lopez and Guillen’s charges were dropped Friday.

The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1GbRKoK ) reports that the dismissal follows an agreement the couple made more than two years ago with prosecutors. Charges were to be dropped if the couple cooperated with the criminal case and completed a series of court proceedings regarding their parenting.

The four defendants involved in the burglary have pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.
