TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A former jury candidate who disobeyed a judge’s order is now facing the possibility of reporting for jury duty every other week for six months.

The Tampa Tribune (https://bit.ly/1K53If8 ) reports that Hillsborough Circuit Judge William Fuente sentenced Alisia C. Carnes to six months of court-supervised probation. Carnes must report for jury duty every other Monday during her probation until she is selected for and serves on a trial.

Fuente says that if Carnes isn’t selected for a case, she must keep reporting biweekly until the probation is over.

Carnes pleaded guilty earlier this month to contempt for reading about Dontae Morris, a man who had already been convicted of murder twice. Carnes was among 200 people who were candidates to serve on the jury in Morris’ third homicide trial in July.
