MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - One of literature’s most prestigious awards, the Man Booker Prize, has gone to a professor at St. Paul’s Macalester College.

Marlon James, a Jamaica native who has taught in the school’s English department since 2007, was announced Tuesday as the winner for “A Brief History of Seven Killings.”

The book is based on the attempted assassination of singer Bob Marley.
