SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A man has filed a complaint after a video showed South Carolina officers bringing him to the ground in an arrest.

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal (https://goo.gl/4AsF1J ) reports Jarvis Terrell was charged with simple assault and trespassing. The newspaper reports his children’s mother reported a domestic disturbance Sunday.

A witness’ video on Facebook shows two white officers struggling with Terrell, who is black. One officer knees him in the video, which has received over 13,000 views.

A police report said the struggle ensued when officers tried to pat him down. The report said Terrell was treated at a hospital for a bloody nose, then taken to jail.

Spartanburg Police Maj. Art Littlejohn said a pat-down was needed because the call was for domestic disturbance with weapons, and the case is under investigation.
