KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities are investigating the death of man west of Kingman that they are calling a homicide case.

County sheriff’s officials say deputies were dispatched to do a welfare check on a man in Yucca on Monday morning.

They found 70-year-old Charles John McCarthy dead at the scene - slumped over his kitchen table and covered in blood.

Details of the case aren’t being released at this time, but they say a pickup truck belonging to McCarthy is missing.

Authorities say a relative last spoke to McCarthy on Sunday.

Autopsy results are pending.
