IDAHO CITY, Idaho (AP) - More firefighters arrived Tuesday to fight a late-season blaze burning about 40 miles northeast of Boise that has destroyed three cabins.

Officials say that the 5-square-mile blaze being fought by 200 firefighters has been prevented from getting closer to State Highway 21 and homes in the southern portion of the fire.

But officials said the human-caused fire has moved north and deeper into heavy timber.

Five helicopters on Tuesday were assigned to fight the fire that started Saturday afternoon on private land and spread with strong winds.

Officials say containment lines are in place on the fire’s western, southern and eastern perimeter where the most residences are located.

The Great Basin Incident Management Team has taken over managing the fire from Idaho officials.
