MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) - The first phase of residency verifications for North Pike School District is complete.

Superintendent Dennis Penton tells the Enterprise-Journal (https://bit.ly/1G386jH) out of 187 affidavits, about 30 were questionable.

Penton said for parents who falsified information, corrective action in the form of criminal charges, removal of students from the district or a combination of the two will take place.

Trustee Kevin Matthew mentioned at several past board meetings, including the Oct. 1 meeting, that he has heard reports of students riding the bus from a driveway that has no house connected to it.

Penton said those situations will be investigated, mostly for the safety of students.
