RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Truckee Meadows Water Authority employee is recovering from injuries he suffered after a pressurized line failed at a water treatment facility in Reno.

Manager of Distribution Maintenance and Generation, Pat Neilson, says the Monday morning incident occurred when a pressurized air line on the backwash system at the Longley Water Treatment Plant failed. The employee was taken to a hospital and released the same day. It is unclear how he was hurt or what injuries he sustained.

The Hazardous Materials Team had responded as a precaution after authorities learned water filter material had funneled through the line when it failed.

Neilsen says there was no impact to the water supply.

Officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the failure.
