GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a small plane that crashed in a field in Weld County killed the two occupants who are onboard.

The Weld County Sheriff’s office says the crash happened at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday. The passengers were pronounced dead at the scene and their identities have not been released.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer says the plane was a Beech 35 Bonanza. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

The Ault and Pierce fire departments responded to the scene.
