SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 16-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was shot multiple times by two teens riding bicycles in Syracuse.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1L903Rd ) police responded to a call of shots fired on Midland Avenue on the city’s south side around 5:45 p.m. Monday.

Detective George Hack says the victim had already been transported to Upstate University Hospital by the time officers arrived on-scene.

The teen was rushed into emergency surgery and is expected to survive.

Police say the victim told officers two male teenagers on bicycles confronted him, and at least one of them fired several shots that struck him multiple times.

Hack says there’s no information on the suspects at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
