NEW YORK (AP) - A pedestrian was killed and two others were injured when a truck hit by an SUV jumped the curb and slammed into people at a bus stop in the Bronx.

New York City police say a 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and two other pedestrians were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Monday at East 138th Street and Bruckner Boulevard.

An SUV driven by a 52-year-old woman was attempting to make a right turn when it collided with a Coca-Cola truck operated by a 35-year-old man. Police say the truck driver lost control, ran up onto the sidewalk and struck scaffolding before hitting the people at the bus stop.

Both drivers and their passengers were treated for minor injuries.
