DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Police are trying to piece together what happened to a victim who showed up at a western Ohio hospital suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The Dayton Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1VRbiGi ) a black Volkswagen with its driver’s side window shot out pulled up to a Dayton hospital around 6 p.m. Tuesday carrying a man who had been shot multiple times.

Dayton Police say an investigation revealed the wounded victim drove himself to a fish and chicken restaurant where he picked up a friend who took him to the hospital.

Police believe the shooting occurred at a crime scene previously established near an Arby’s across the street.

Det. Richard Blommel says the victim is expected to survive.

Police have no suspects but believe the gunman was riding in a green Ford van.
