PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say nearly 500 pounds of marijuana has been seized from an SUV in Phoenix.

A DPS trooper attempted to stop the SUV for aggressive driving on Interstate 10 at Ray Road in Phoenix about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle pulled off the freeway and stopped in the area of Ray Road and 54th Street.

DPS officials say the driver fled from the SUV.

Troopers were joined by Chandler and Phoenix police officers in an unsuccessful search for the driver.

DPS says 490 pounds of marijuana was found inside the SUV and was seized.
