MILWAUKEE (AP) - Police say one officer and four citizens were injured in separate crashes as squad cars chased a stolen vehicle in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Police Department said in a news release that several officers started pursuing the stolen vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

About 10 minutes into the pursuit, the stolen vehicle crashed into a minivan, injuring two men inside the van, before striking a tree. One of the pursuing squad cars struck another vehicle at the same intersection, injuring a male officer and two people inside the other vehicle.

All four citizens involved in the crashes were taken to hospitals with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.

The three occupants of the stolen vehicle fled on foot and hadn’t been arrested as of Tuesday night.
