OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Police say a man and a woman suspected in a shooting were arrested with a 4-month-old baby girl in the car.

Ocala police say officers arrested the suspected shooter, Darion Jordan Jr., and his girlfriend, 28-year-old Chermagne King, on Monday.

Witnesses told police that Jordan and the victim, Daniel Johnson, were in an argument about Johnson having hit King previously.

Police say the men fought briefly before King pulled Johnson away.

Police say a shot was fired, hitting Johnson in the right ankle. He survived.

The Ocala Star-Banner (https://bit.ly/1PegsHY ) reports that the Department of Children and Families has been notified, and the child is with a relative.

Jordan, a convicted felon, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and other charges. King was arrested for marijuana possession.
