ATLANTA (AP) - Firefighters are simulating an aircraft fire during a training exercise at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The drill planned for Wednesday morning is part of an annual certification for rescue firefighters at the airport.

Crews will conduct a live burn at a training facility and then work to extinguish the blaze.

Officials say heavy, dark smoke from the drill will be visible from highways around the airport, and they’re anticipating lots of calls from area residents and motorists in the area.

The drill is supposed to end at noon.
