NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut woman is going to prison after prosecutors say she stole more than $160,000 from her father, who suffered a traumatic brain injury more than 20 years ago and lives in a nursing home.

Thirty-nine-year-old Lisa Farnum, of Groton, was convicted of larceny and sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison and five years of probation in New London Superior Court.

Prosecutors say Farnum was given control of her father’s financial affairs by a probate judge and stole money intended to go toward his care. They say she then used that money for her own expenses, including personal trips, between 2012 and 2014.
