TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A British man who pleaded guilty to operating illegal marijuana businesses and a potentially explosive hash oil manufacturing lab has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Andre Lempriere’s sentence includes a firearms charge. Lempriere is a citizen of the United Kingdom who was in the U.S. illegally, which made it illegal for him to have guns.

Officials say he’ll likely be deported after he has served his prison term. He was indicted in February and pleaded guilty in June.

At his sentencing on Friday, the judge said the hash oil extraction operation was extraordinarily dangerous.

U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says Lempriere had no state license or permit. His activities put his employees and surrounding businesses at risk.
