MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a burglary suspect accused of crashing into a Marana Unified School bus during his attempted escape has been arrested.

Marana police believe 35-year-old Jesus Albert Serrano Jr. was burglarizing a home Wednesday when the owner came home and caught him.

Police say Serrano fled the scene in his car and hit the bus, which was carrying 23 elementary school children.

None of the children were injured.

Police say Serrano fled the crash scene but was taken into custody near Interstate 10 and the Marana Exit.

They say Serrano is facing charges of burglary, theft and possession of a narcotic drug with additional charges pending.

It was unclear Friday if Serrano has a lawyer yet.
