GLENSIDE, Pa. (AP) - Police say an employee shot a supervisor at a taxicab company in the Philadelphia suburbs, and a suspect was later arrested in the city.

Montgomery County emergency dispatchers say a man was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital in serious condition after the shooting at Montco Suburban Taxi Co. in Glenside. One of the company’s owners, Roman Barkan, told WCAU-TV that the victim was conscious and alert while awaiting surgery.

The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say a suspect was arrested in Philadelphia on Friday afternoon. He wasn’t immediately identified.

Philadelphia Montessori Charter school was under an unofficial lockdown as a precaution. The school planned to remain shut until police advise it’s safe.
