Chief Justice Gants to give annual speech on judiciary

BOSTON (AP) - Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Ralph Gants will give the annual State of the Judiciary speech to the legal community this week.

Gants will speak at the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Bench-Bar Symposium Tuesday at the John Adams Courthouse.

Trial Court Chief Justice Paula Carey, Trial Court Administrator Harry Spence and MBA President Robert Harnais will also give remarks.

Gants was sworn in as the 37th chief justice of the court in July 2014. He was first appointed to the SJC in 2009 as an associate justice.
