LOS ANGELES (AP) - A woman was arrested after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a lengthy high-speed pursuit through Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

The CHP says the driver of the Volkswagen Beetle fled at speeds topping 100 mph during the chase that began on State Route 60 at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/1RPPfKj) the pursuit wound onto the 57 and 91 freeways before stopping nearly an hour later on State Route 100 near Los Angeles.

The woman was detained by CHP officers. It wasn’t immediately known what prompted the pursuit or what charges the driver might face.
