SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his two elderly parents at their Sunnyvale home.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (https://bayareane.ws/1PCQYUb ) officers went to the home Monday after getting a report of a family disturbance where someone was stabbed.

Capt. Jeffrey Hunter of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety says they arrived to find a suspect in front of the home.

Hunter says the man, identified as 38-year-old Daniel Trujillo of Sunnyvale, did not respond to officers’ commands and had to be subdued.

He says an elderly couple, believed to be the suspect’s parents, was found in the home with stab wounds. They were rushed to the hospital, and are listed in stable condition.

Police say a weapon believed to have been used in the stabbing was recovered at the home, which is where the suspect lived with his parents.
