BALTIMORE (AP) - One man was killed and four people were injured what police called a “brazen” daylight shooting on a busy Baltimore road outside a strip of shops.

Police spokesman T.J. Smith says a civilian approached a patrol officer about 3 p.m. Friday on Reisterstown Road and said there was a person lying on a sidewalk. Smith says the officer saw that person and other victims and called for backup.

Smith says one man has died. Three men and a woman are in stable condition at hospitals.

Smith says, “This was a brazen act at three o’clock in the afternoon.” He says police don’t have information on a shooter or shooters or a motive.

At a news conference, Smith urged witnesses to share information with police about what happened.
